Under the slogan of “Lets break the silence” World Youth Forum radio was launched on Friday, November 2.
WYF radio aims to take advantage of the diversity and youth different cultures to offer charming youth programs.
The radio features a variety of programs that address inspirational success stories, youths' cultures and multiple art issues, in addition to providing a follow-up to the Forum different sessions.
Among WYF radio programs:
1- Egyptian Gene:
Egyptian Gene program talks about the seven pillars of the Egyptian personality, which reflect the cultural diversity of the Egyptian character, the main idea of the Forum this year.
2- Ask For More
This program sheds the light on the successful examples around the world, as well as youth ideas and efforts for a better world.
3- Discover Egypt from East to West
This program offers a tour covering the most important cities and tourist places in Egypt.
4- Festivals
Festivals program presents information about the most important festivals and celebrations around the world.
5- Belmary
Belmary is a program that gives forum guests a glimpse into the lives of Egyptians, their daily habits, their various occasions and their famous dishes.
6- Cut Down
Cut Down is a program that provides a simplified explanation of the most important concepts that relate to the content of Forum sessions
7- Artology
Artology tackles the most important arts issues around the world.
8- Crazy bucket
Crazy bucket is an interactive entertainment program where forum guests can participate by answering Questions and challenges.
9- Feedback
This program displays the views of guests in all forum events.
President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will inaugurate World Youth Forum’s theater on Friday, November 2, to serve as an art forum for youth around the world.
The WYF’s theater was tailor made to be an innovative arena where young people show their talents, thoughts and cultures through this unique experience that will be presented for the first time at the World Youth Forum 2018.
The theater's performances will extend over three days, reflecting a message of understanding and peace among the forum’s participants, emphasizing the integration of civilizations through singing, music and acting.
The first performance on WYF’s theater will be presented by the American - African filmmaker Zuriel Oduwole which is the youngest filmmaker around the world.
Oduwole is a teenage education advocate and filmmaker best known for her works on the advocacy for the education of girls in Africa. Oduwole met more than 20 presidents and prime ministers around the world. Her name was included in New African Magazine in "100 Most Influential People in Africa’’ list.
Egyptian singer Rula Zaki, Egyptian Drummer Hazem Esmat, Balquies, the Korean comedian Wonho Chung and the English guitarist Dave Sharp will all perform on November 2.
The new play “El Za’aer” (The Visitor) will be shown on the World Youth Forum’s theater on Friday.
The play which is directed by the veteran Egyptian director Khaled Galal sheds light on some important issues for youth around the world. “El Za’aer” is an international play that carries a message of peace, understanding and integration among all nations. About 16 actors from different nationalities are participating in the play.
A large number of young Egyptian and foreign actors asked to participate in the play through the website of the forum, and then underwent a comprehensive evaluation until the Galal chose the best of them.
Nearly 122,000 youth from 195 countries register in the second edition of the World Youth Forum (WYF), set for Sharm el Sheikh city on November 3-6, which will be held under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.
They announced that 122,000 youth aged from 18 to 40 registered online in the forum. Out of 122,000, 68,000 persons registered to participate in the forum and 13,000 others to take the chance to speak up loud.
Also, 5,000 artists registered to participate in the forum's theater.
The forum also decided to host 5,000 youth from 145 countries to participate in this year's forum, compared to 3,000 participants last year.
The WYF in its second annual version will tackle two main axes: peace and development.
The first axis will discuss reconstructing post-conflict countries and societies, the role of world leaders in achieving peace, the duty of the international community to provide humanitarian assistance, counter-terrorism issues, and Euro-Mediterranean Partnership.
The theme of the development will include topics related to energy and water security, empowerment of people with disabilities, the role of voluntary work in building societies, the agenda of 2063 African Sustainable Development, digital citizenship, the role of art and cinema in shaping communities, ways to build future leaders, and the means of shrinking the gender gap in the work force.
An Arab-African Summit Simulation Model will be held on the sidelines of the Forum, as was recommended during the African Union Simulation Model held in May 2018 as part of the activation of the recommendations of the 2017 World Youth Forum.
The first edition of the World Youth Forum was launched from Nov. 4-10, 2017 in Sharm el-Sheikh. It was attended by 3,200 participants from 113 countries. The forum was a platform for 222 speakers from 64 countries with expertise in various fields, gathered in 46 sessions.
In the 2017 edition, the participating leaders and experts discussed various international and regional issues, including crises of migration and refugees, democracy and human rights, African stability and development, and globalization and cultural identity, as well as the technology and social media and their impact on the population.
