CAIRO – 30 October 2018: As part of Cairo International Film Festival’s 40th edition program, numerous American films are expected to screen. However, the American films will not be part of the festival’s competition.
"BlacKkKlansman"
Ron Stallworth, an African American police officer from Colorado Springs, successfully manages to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan branch with the help of a Jewish surrogate who eventually becomes the leader. The film is based on a true story.
The film is directed by Spike Lee and written by Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, Kevin Wilmot and Spike Lee.
The film is produced by Jordan Peele.

This film revolves around the life of a middle class family during the 70’s. The film is directed and written by Alfonso Cuaron and stars Yalitza Aparicio, Marina de Tavira, Diego Cortina Autrey and others.
"Papillon"
Wrongfully convicted for murder, Henri Charriere forms an unlikely relationship with fellow inmate and quirky convicted counterfeiter Louis Dega, in an attempt to escape from the notorious penal colony on Devil's Island.
The film is directed by Michael Noer and written by Aaron Guzikowski.
