CAIRO - 27 October 2018: The National Cinema Center headed by Khaled Abdel Jalil in collaboration with the Cultural Development Fund headed by Fathy Abdel Wahab inaugurated on Saturday a new club tailor made for the disabled and those who need special care.

A couple of days of each month will be chosen to display carefully selected movies for the disabled.

The Animation films "Khalik A’eed" ( Please Stay) directed by Lamia Rajai and " Kabeer w Sagheer " (Big and Small) directed by Sahar El Daly will be screened in the new cinema club.

In addition the National Cinema Centre is organizing painting workshops for disabled supervised by Osama Abou Zeid and Lamia Rajai.

The governmental approach towards the disabled and those who need special care has been changed in Egypt since the 2011 revolution. The disabled have been deprived of their much deserved basic rights for decades.

The new approach towards the disabled in Egypt gained the support of the locals.

It is worth noting that Abdel Jalil has opened a club for the Independent Cinema on Aug. 11 in the presence of numerous public figures and independent cinema supporters in Egypt.

Film producer Mohamed el-Adl, directors Amir Ramses and Ashraf Fayek were the most prominent local film makers among the attendees.
