CAIRO – 8 October 2018: Syrian singer Faia Younan is preparing to perform live in Kuwait for the first time, as part of Al Salam Festival’s closing ceremony. The concert is set to be held in Al Shaheed Park Theatre at 8:30 pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Younan is currently filming her latest video clip, “Baghdad”, in the Iraqi capital. In an interview with Youm7, Younan said that the song is dedicated to the Iraqis.
Younan also said that the style of her new song is going to be totally different than that of her previous works.
The singer stated that the song holds an Egyptian, Syrian, Lebanese style, as she is cooperating for the first time with the Egyptian composer and Ouh player Hazem Shaheen, Lebanese songwriter and poet Zahy Wehbe, and Lebanese musician Rayan El Haber.
The upcoming edition of Al Salam Festival is its third, and will include Egyptian, Sudanese, and German participants, as well as that of homegrown fusion band Cairo Steps.
