CAIRO – 30 September 2018: The 34th edition of Alexandria Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries (AIFF), headed by critic Amir Abaza, will honor Italian star Franco Nero for his intriguing film career in the celebrations set to be held on Oct. 3-8.
The festival is held under the sponsorship of Minister of Culture, Inas Abdel Dayem.

Francesco Clemente Giuseppe Sparanero, better known by his stage name Franco Nero, is an Italian actor. He is best known for his breakthrough role as the title character in Sergio Corbucci's film “Django”, a role that he reprised in “Nello Rossati's Django Strikes Again”.

The festival’s manager, Abaza, stated that the festival opening and closing ceremonies will be held in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina's Grand Theatre for the fifth year in a row, which reflects how reputable the library is for hosting such big events.It is worth noting that the festival will be held under the label of “Jerusalem is Arab”. The Egyptian Association of Writers and Critics of Cinema dedicated the event to veteran actress Nadia Lutfi.

Lutfi is a retired Egyptian actress. She is daughter to an Egyptian father who was an accountant and a Polish mother. In her prime, she was one of the most popular actresses during the final phase of Egyptian cinema's "Golden Age".
