CAIRO – 19 September 2018: Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem inaugurated on Sept. 18 the second edition of the international Sculpture Salon at Cairo Opera House's Art Palace.

The inauguration was attended by Head of the Fine Arts sector Khaled Sorour and the high committee organizing the salon.
The salon includes sculptures of 57 international professional and youth artists, who were nominated to present their works in the salon because of their previous participation and their spectacular artworks that affect the Egyptian contemporary sculpture scene.

The artworks were diversified both at the artistic and the raw materials levels. The raw materials used in the sculptures included granite, iron, bronze, polyester, wood and gypsum.

The committee decided to honor three artists during this year’s edition; Kamal Obaid, Abdul Hadi al-Washahi, and Farouk Ibrahim.
