Head of National Cinema Centre, Dr. Khaled Abdel Jalil – Egypt Today.
CAIRO – 14 August 2018: According to Head of the National Cinema Centre and the Cinema Control Department, Khaled Abdel Jalil, a new club will be established in El-Hanager Cinema for the disabled and those who need special care.
A couple of days of each month will be chosen to display carefully selected movies for the disabled.
Abdel Jalil further explained that El-Hanager Cinema has organized numerous activities for the upcoming period, including organizing kids Cinema day on Fridays, focusing on cartoons that address issues that require the attention of parents and caregivers.
During the Friday sessions, discussions will also be held to find solutions for obstacles local children may be suffering from in silence.
It is worth noting that Abdel Jalil has opened a club for the Independent Cinema on Aug. 11 in the presence of numerous public figures and independent cinema supporters in Egypt.
Film producer Mohamed el-Adl, directors Amir Ramses and Ashraf Fayek were the most prominent local film makers among the attendees.
The governmental approach towards the disabled and those who need special care has been changed in Egypt since the 2011 revolution. The disabled have been deprived of their much deserved basic rights for decades.
The new approach towards the disabled in Egypt gained the support of the locals.
