CAIRO – 8 August 2018: The Egyptian General Authority for Books will inaugurate on Wednesday the book fair at the St. Mark Cathedral in Alexandria, due to be held from Aug. 8 to 18.

Haitham Al-Haj Ali, the head of Egyptian General Authority for Books, will inaugurate the fair, accompanied by a deputy of Pope Tawadros II, the Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark. The book fair offers up to 50 percent discount on all books.

In an attempt to catch readers at the beach, the Egyptian General Authority for Books has inaugurated several summer book fairs in the country’s coastal towns. Its first book fair was held in the Mediterranean resort town of Ras al-Bar from June 26 to July 5, and followed by another local book fair in Port Said between July 12 and 21 as well as the fair at Mersa Matruh.
