CAIRO – 17 May 2017: Renowned American talk show presenter Jimmy Kimmel returns as a host for 90th Oscars, which will take place March 4, 2018, for the second year in a row, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Tuesday.

The late-night comedian will reunite with producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd who were responsible for organizing the ceremony last year.

“Hosting the Oscars was a highlight of my career and I am grateful to Cheryl, Dawn and the Academy for asking me to return to work with two of my favorite people, Mike De Luca and Jennifer Todd,” Jimmy said in a statement.

Some social media users are shocked with the news as the previous Oscars, which was held on February 26, attracted roughly 32.9 million viewers, a 4 percent decline from the previous year; it was the less viewed Oscars since 2008, not to forget the fatal mistake of announcing “La La Land” as best picture before announcing “Moonlight,” the real winner.

“If you think we screwed up the ending this year, wait until you see what we have planned for the 90th anniversary show!” That’s how Kimmel commented on the bungled best-picture announcement.
