CAIRO – 11 May 2017: An exhibition of the wardrobe of renowned Egyptian-born, Italian singer Dalida is currently taking place at the Palais Galliera in Paris, France.
The exhibition is held in commemoration of her 30th death anniversary, and will last until August 13. The exhibition displays special outfits that Dalida wore in her daily life, and presents her glamorous wardrobe designed by well-known fashion designers Yves Saint Laurent, Loris Azzaro and Balmain.
Dalida’s brother, Orlando, has recently donated her clothes to the Palais Galleria, according to the gallery’s website.
Dalida earned more than 70 gold records during her 30-year career, as well as being the first singer to receive platinum and diamond discs.
In 1987, she committed suicide by a barbiturate overdose, leaving a tragic note saying , “Life has become unbearable for me … forgive me.”
