CAIRO – 27 April 2018: Netflix has ordered a new science-fiction drama to be made titled “Another Life”, set to star "Battlestar Galactica" actress Katee Sackhoff.
Set to run across 10 parts for its first season at least, "Another Life" is the story of astronaut Niko Breckenridge (Sackhoff), who takes her crew to investigate what appears to be an alien artifact. However, they soon discover there is much more than they bargained for, and the chance that they will never return is very high.
Sackhoff shot to fame for her debut role in the Syfy series "Battlestar Galactica", where she portrayed the character of Captain Starbuck across four seasons. As “Battlestar Galactica” is a remake, the role of the character was originally written for a man, which allowed Sackhoff to portray a role rarely seen for female characters and thus proved to be a fan-favorite. Apart from “Battlestar Galactica”, Sackhoff also starred in the western TV series "Longmire", which first aired on the TV channel A&E before Netflix picked the show up for its final three seasons. Her other roles include "The Flash", "Riddick", "White Noise 2: The Light", "Oculus" and more. Sackhoff is best known for portraying numerous strong female characters, which has earned her much praise.
"Another Life" is created by Aaron Martin, who also produced "Saving Hope", "Killjoys" and "Being Erica". Noreen Halpern of "Alias Grace" will serve as the executive producer through her company Halfire Entertainment. With this new series, Netflix once again adds another science-fiction show to their ranks, following the recent releases of "Altered Carbon" and the "Lost in Space" reboot.
