CAIRO – 24 April 2018: Egyptian singers Hany Shaker and Reham Abdel Hakim will perform a concert in Sharm el-Sheikh on Friday, April 27 in celebration of Sinai Liberation Day. The concert is organized under the auspices of South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda.

Shaker was born in Cairo in 1952. He started his musical career at a very young age as part of the choir with Abdel Halim Hafez for the song “Sora” (Photo). Later, Shaker performed the role of young Sayed Darwish in the movie “Sayed Darwish”.

He studied music at the Cairo Conservatoire. In 1972, while he was a second-year student, he released his first breakthrough hit, “Heloua Ya Donia” (It’s a Wonderful Life). Shaker had much support from the musical legends at that time, including Umm Kulthum, Mohamed Abdel Wahab and Abdel Halim Hafez, as they believed in his talent.

Shaker's musical repertoire includes more than 461 songs, such as “Ghalta” (Mistake), “El Helm El Gameel” (The Beautiful Dream), “Tekhsary” (You Will Lose). Shaker is the current head of the Egyptian Musicians Syndicate.

Meanwhile, Abdel Hakim was born in 1982. She is also an actress, known for performing the role of an adolescent Umm Kulthum in the famous Egyptian series “Umm Kulthum” in 1999. She is very well-known for her singing of Umm Kulthoum's songs in Cairo Opera House concerts. Her most famous song is “Feha Haga Helwa” (There is Something Beautiful) in the Egyptian movie “Assal Eswed” in 2010.
