CAIRO – 14 April 2018: The upcoming “Terminator Reboot” has found its titular deadly cyborg in actor Gabriel Luna, while Natalia Reyes of "La Vendedora de Rosas" is set to be the film's leading lady. Diego Boneta of "Scream Queens" is also on-board the project.
Luna is best known for starring as Marvel superhero Ghost Rider or Robbie Reyes on the TV series "Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D". He has also starred in various films, such as 2011's "Bernie", "Matador" in 2014 and "Transpecos" in 2016.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Natalia Reyes will portray the film's leading lady Dani, and was cast in much the same way former “Terminator” leading actress Hamilton was too. Cameron and Miller sought out a Latina actress who would be a unique discovery, and found her in the form of Reyes thanks to her work on the upcoming film "Birds of Passage" from Columbian director Ciro Guerra.
The upcoming “Terminator” reboot marks original director James Cameron's first involvement with the franchise since his work on "Terminator 2: Judgment Day” back in 1991. Cameron will be the producer for the reboot, and has brought in "Deadpool" director Tim Miller to direct the reboot's first movie. The franchise's classic stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton are also on-board for the film, and "Blade Runner 2049" actor Mackenzie Davis was amongst the first cast members announced back in March. The film is a co-production between Skydance Studios, Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox.
Details of the plot are still vague, but what is known is that the movie will take place in a Mexican city which is caught in the middle of a war between humans and terminators, deadly robots sent by the powerful supercomputer A.I "Skynet" to wipe out mankind.
The “Terminator Reboot” is expected to be released on Nov. 22, 2019.
