CAIRO – 10 April 2018: Google celebrates the 86th birthday of “The Noble” and late Egyptian/Hollywood star Omar Sharif, by displaying a doodle for him on the homepage of its search engine.
Marking the birthday of Sharif, who would have been 86 today, Google displays a simple heartwarming animation that fits his elegant style flawlessly.
Sharif was an Egyptian movie star who amazingly played remarkable roles in numerous movies such as “Sira’ Fi Al-Wadi” (Struggle in The Valley) , “La Anam” (Sleepless), “Sira Fi Al Nile” (Struggle in The Nile) and “Syaedat Al Qasr” (Lady of The Placa), amongst others.
In addition, Sharif had exceptionally thrived internationally through his remarkable appearances in both American and English productions such as Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Dr. Zhivago (1965), and Funny Girl (1968), amongst others.
Sharif has won three Golden Globe Awards and a César Award. He was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor, as well as Golden Globe Award for the New Star of The Year award.
