CAIRO – 15 March 2018: Cairo's ArtsMart gallery will be hosting a unique event on Friday, March 23, 2018 that sees Egyptian tenors performing alongside the displayed art.
Dubbed “Orchestra In Art - The Three Egyptian Tenors”, this event aims to bring the worlds of visual art and musical performance together in a way that's never been done before. In this breathtaking and captivating experience, a full orchestra works alongside a wide display of contemporary Egyptian art.
This marks the second edition of the event, and sees world-renowned conductor Nader Abassi lead three critically acclaimed Egyptians tenors known as the “The United Philharmonic Orchestra”; Hany Abdelzaher, Ragaa Eldin, and Amr Medhat, as they perform Italian Opera.
Eldin has recently made a big impression on the international music scene and is something of a rising star, having participated in many international competitions. He was awarded the 2017 Best Tenor award in the 19th International Tenors Tournament in Poland. Abdelzaher is an Egyptian living in Salzburg, who has performed in countries such as Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria and many more.
Medhat is a young tenor who has studied Masterclasses in the Mozarteum in Salzburg under the tutelage of Professor Horiana Branisteanu, as well as studying in Finland under acclaimed Tom Krause and tenor Jorma Silvasti.
'The Three Tenors' is a name that pays homage to Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, a popular operatic singing group who operated between the early 1990s and 2000s, and were amongst some of the most successful classical music performers; their 1990 debut concert in Rome drew in a global television viewing of one billion people.
The selection of artists being displayed includes the likes of Abdel Wahab, Samir Fouad, Lina Mowafy, Ibrahim El Tanbouli, Abdel Mohsen, Klay Kassem, Britt Boutros Ghali, Gamal Meleka, and Mostafa Rahma and much more.
