CAIRO- 7 March 2018: The renowned magical story Swan Lake ballet will be staging Cairo Opera House for three consecutive days starting Wednesday and running until March 9. Composed by the classical composer Tchaikovsky, the ballet performance will be carried out by the veteran Saint Petersburg Ballet Troupe at the opera’s main hall.
“Saint Petersburg Ballet troupe is well known for its dynamic and vibrant classic and modern repertoires and is comprised of some of the remarkable professional ballerinas,” Cairo Opera House head Magdy Saber mentioned in a released statement by the Cairo Opera House.

He also added that Swan Lake ballet premiered for the first time in 1887 at Moscow. The ballet revolves around a romantic story comprised of four acts and was first fashioned from Russian folk tales that tells the story of a princess that turned into a Swan by an evil witch’s curse.

The princess, Odette, spends her days floating on a lake missing her human form. Prince Siegfried visits her and both quickly fall in love however both face problems of confusion imposed by the witch who casted the curse, but they later manage to
overcome the witch’s evilness and have happy ending together.
