Cairo – 27 January 2018: Joint arts and culture projects between Egypt and Algeria are to be launched in the coming few months, Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem announced Friday.

Abdel Dayem made her announcement while inspecting the Algerian pavilion at the 49th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, which was launched on Friday.

The 49th edition of the fair was inaugurated with the participation of 27 countries, including 17 Arab countries and the 10 foreign countries.

The minister added that a meeting with her Algerian counterpart Ezz-Eddine Mayhoubi today will result in key joint projects.

Algeria was chosen as this year’s guest of honor at the fair that houses 1,194 pavilions.
Farid Dahman, the deputy Algerian ambassador previously announced that about 10 percent of the participating publishing houses are Algerian.

It is pertinent to mention that Egypt was chosen as guest of honor for a similar fair in Algeria last year.
