CAIRO – 2 January 2018: Prominent Egyptian historian and author Bassam el-Shamaa’ has started a new series of lectures entitled “My Journey to Jerusalem” on December 30 at Bayt El-Sinnari.
“My main aim of those lectures is reintroducing the history of Jerusalem and refuting the Israeli claims around Jerusalem (Quds),” Shamaa’ told Egypt Today.
The lectures seek to prove the Palestinian ownership of territories in Jerusalem through pictures and maps that will be showcased during the lectures.
“The lectures will also tackle the beginning of Zionism, the exodus, the story of the third temple, and the Israeli trials of deconstructing Al-Aqsa Mosque,” Shamaa’ said.
Expressing his passion towards Palestine, he narrates his experience during his journey to Palestine including his visits to Israeli museums that displayed Islamic, Arabic and Egyptian artifacts.
Shamaa’ will give his second- free entrance-lecture around Jerusalem at Dream Land Association on January 20.
Depending on interesting facts, reliable sources, and simplified explanations, Shamaa’ is leading an initiative for writing Egyptian history by Egyptian archaeologists and historians.
