Tobol International Carnival is back again for its fifth edition

CAIRO – 5 April 2017: Drums are one of the most influential instruments of all time, used in countless ways and many genres across the globe. In homage to the importance of the drum, Tobol International Carnival’s fifth edition is fast approaching.

At the carnival, which will run April 19-25, each participating country will play drums originating from their native culture.

The carnival is set to portray the diversity of cultures around the world through playing drums, and will also involve some foreign folkloric dances. The program consists of eight free daily shows across different touristic landmarks and cultural centers in greater Cairo, such as Moez Street and Sultan Al - Ghuri complex, according to the carnival’s

The carnival’s opening ceremony will take place at the Saladin Citadel of Cairo on April 19.
