CAIRO – 18 December 2017: Legendary Lebanese singer Majida El Roumi, also referred to as the “Singing Arabic Angel”, “The Singer of the Cultured” and “The Sound of the Sky”, will perform at a massive concert at Dubai Media City Theater (DMC) on January 26, 2018, after a four-year absence.
With her fans in Dubai excited about the prospect, El Roumi will perform various selections from her hits, such as “Ee’tazalt El Gharam” (I Gave up on Love), “Kon Sadeky” (Be My Friend) and “Saqat El Qenaa’” (The Mask has Fallen), besides her latest 2017 release “La Tasaa’l” (Don’t Ask).
Influenced by Umm Kulthoum, Fayrouz and Laila Mourad, El Roumy has been one of the most popular female voices in the Arab world since the 1980s. The Lebanese singer released her first single “Am Bahlamak Ya Helm Lebnan” (Lebanon, I am Dreaming Your Dream) in 1975.
She has, to date, released 14 albums and has performed in the most prestigious cultural venues in the Middle East. Due to her classical music style and unique voice, she was referred to as and “Arab Music Angle.”
Her most celebrated songs are “Kalemat” (Words), “Enta Wi Ana” (You and Me) and “Ebhath Aa’ny” (Search for Me).
