CAIRO – 13 December 2017: Egyptian – German Jazz ensemble Cairo Steps will perform in all Egyptian opera houses located in Cairo, Alexandria and Damanhur. Their tour will start with Sayed Darwish Theater and the Alexandria Opera House on December 14.
There will be two more performances held at the Damanhur Opera House on December 15 and the Cairo Opera House on December 17.

Several Egyptian musical icons will take part in the concerts, such as international flutist and Cairo Opera House Director Enas Abdel Dayem, and chanter Ehab Yunis.
They will perform selections from their compositions such as "Flying Carpet," "Siwa," "Anbar," and "Memories."

Adopting Jazz concepts such as peace, unity and collaboration, Cairo Steps merges international Jazz tunes with oriental grooves and classic European music, according to Cairo Steps founder Basem Darwisch.
Cairo Steps is an international spiritual/Jazz ensemble founded in 2002; they performed numerous concerts in Europe and Egypt.

The band consists of: Basem Darwisch on oud, Sebastian Müller-Schrobsdorff on piano, Stefan Hergenröder on e-bass, Rageed William on duduk & nay, Max Klaas on percussions, Wolfgang Wittemann on saxophone, Ragy Kamal on kanoun, Jan Boshra on cello, Emad Azmy on violin, Shereen Azmy on violin, Angelika Loew Beer on violin and Maria Voigt on violin.
