CAIRO – 13 December 2017: The Egyptian Ministry of Culture is preparing for the inauguration of the Naguib Mahfouz Museum, which will be partially available for public visitation by the end of December.

Minister of Culture Helmy al-Namnam and President of the Cultural Development Fund Fathy Abdel-Wahab paid a visit to the museum under construction. During their visit, they made checks of its construction progress, and listened to a detailed explanation of the preparations underway with Tarek Khedr, sector director of the Maintenance of Palaces and Monuments, and Yasmine Nasr, architect and director of the Naguib Mahfouz Museum project.

The minister emphasized the importance of overcoming any difficulties facing construction and maintaining an open connection between the project and the Ministry of Culture for the quick resolution of any problems. The museum will open as soon as possible, according to the Ministry of Culture’s official Facebook page.
