CAIRO – 9 December 2017: After a long series of delays, Elton John finally gave his long-awaited concert at the Autism Rocks Arena on Friday December 8, rewarding fans with a two-hour session of his greatest music.
The original date for the concert was back in December 2016 before being pushed to January, though a further delay was caused by health issues which prevented John from being able to travel. John performed some 24 songs from his 50-year long career, including tracks from his latest album “Wonderful Crazy Night”.
One of the most acclaimed solo singers of all time, Elton John has sold well over 300 million records worldwide, with his single “Candle In The Wind” (1997) holding the record as the best selling single of all time, and has toured over 4,000 performances across 80 countries since 1970, with five Grammy awards to his name.
While fans at the Autism Rocks Arena were required to remain seated, it didn’t prevent any of celebrating John’s immense talent, especially after his performance of “Your Song”, which the singer dedicated to his mother who recently passed away.
Elton wrapped up the show with an encore of “Candle In the Wind”, putting a fabulous finish to a long-awaited tour.
