Animated film ‘Ethel & Ernest’ to screen at Magnolia

CAIRO – 9 December 2017: Animated film "Ethel and Ernest" will screen at Magnolia Leaves of Art on Monday.

Based on the graphic novel "Ethel and Ernest" by English author Raymond Briggs, the film revolves around the life of a small family; Ernest, his wife Ethel and their son Raymond during World War II. It also traces major social changes in English society after World War II.

Released in 2016, it stars Pam Ferris, Jim Broadbent, Brenda Blethyn and Luke Treadaway.

It participated in different festivals such as Stuttgart International Trickfilm Festival 2017 and Melbourne International Film Festival 2017. It won the Jury Award for Best Animated Feature in Anima Mundi Animation Festival in 2017.
