Profile: Taim Hasan from ‘Al Zeer Salem’ to ‘Al Haiba’

CAIRO – 25 November 2017: Celebrating Arabic acting stars, Egypt Today presents an overview for prominent Syrian actor Taim Hasan’s career.

Hasan initiated his career in Syrian drama in 2000, performing his early roles as a supporting actor in “Kan Ya Ma Kan” (Once Upon Time) (2000) and “Al Zeer Salem” (2001).

With his catchy performance, he became a member of Ali's main casting team. So, Hassan participated in a number of Syrian iconic historical TV shows directed by Ali, alongside various Syrian famous actors such as Gamal Soliman, Sulaf Fawakherji, Nesreen Tafesh, Bassel Khayat and Suzan Najm Aldeen.

His unforgotten roles included "Saqr Quraish" (Quraish's Raven 2002), "Rabee' Qurtuba" (Cordoba's Spring 2003) and "Molook Al Tawaeef" (The Kings of Sects 2005).

Mastering acting in biographies, Hasan portrayed Nizar Qabbani in the "Nizar Qabbani" (2005) biographical series.

Besides his historical and documentary trends, Hasan represented various roles in diverse Syrian social TV shows like "Al Taghreba El Falastenya" (Palestinian Alienation 2004) and "Aala Tol El Ayam" (Through the Passing Days 2006).

His Middle Eastern fame began in 2007 after performing his leading legendary role in "Al Malek Farouk" (King Farouk 2007), written by Egyptian author and researcher Lamees Gaber and directed by Ali.

Due to a series of great successes, doors were opened to re-study King Farouk's biography. In addition, it was considered as a correction of Farouk's position in Egyptian collective memory.

Continuing his prominent career in Arabic drama, Hasan introduced different acting roles like Egyptian series "A'abed Kerman" (2011), Syrian-Lebanese series "Cello", and "Nos Youm" (A Half Day 2016).

In 2017, Hasan introduced "Al Haiba" series, which gained great fame in the Middle East.

Throughout his career, he performed in a few cinema films, such as "Mikano" (2009) and "Kheta Badela" (Plan B 2015).

"Aa'let El Hajj Noamaan" (Hajj Noamaan Family) will be aired through the upcoming days in the Middle East. It was written by prominent Egyptian author Magdy Saber and directed by iconic Egyptian director Ahmed Shafik.

This year, Hasan drew the attention of media after announcing his marriage to celebrated TV presenter Wafaa Elkilany.
