CAIRO – 24 November 2017: Grammy-award winning British musician Ed Sheeran performed live at the Dubai Autism Rocks Arena on Thursday, November 23, finishing off his round of this year’s world tour, which saw him perform 100 shows globally.

Tickets sold out almost immediately after they were announced back in May, and Sheeran delighted his fans with a two-hour performance that featured some of his biggest hits, particularly from his album Divide, along with songs such as ‘Thinking Out Loud,’ ‘Castle On the Hill’ and more.

Born in England on February 17 1991, Sheeran had been writing and performing his own music since he was 11-years-old, filled with a love and dedication that never wavered. He released his first extended play, ‘The Orange Room’ when he was only 14 years old and soon moved to London in order to pursue his career further. He released his first two albums in 2006 and 2007, and by 2009 he was playing at over 300 live shows.

It was the rise of social media in the early 2010s that really helped Sheeran take root, particularly when rapper ‘Example’ saw his music online and asked the then obscure musician to tour with him for his opening act, the first step in establishing Sheeran’s rise in popularity. Eventually, big names such as Jamie Foxx and even Taylor Swift took an interest in his music, and Sheeran’s already rabid fan base grew wide and wider.

Signing on a deal with Atlantic Records, Sheeran his album ‘+’ was an instantaneous hit, selling over a million copies. His song ‘I See Fire’ even got featured in the hit 2013 fantasy epic ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.’ He even became the first artist in history to debut on the Billboard’s ‘Top 10’ charts simultaneously. At only 26 years old, there’s certainly still a lot more left for Sheeran to wow the world with.
