CAIRO – 23 November 2017:Multi-disciplinary guitarist Fernando Perez will play in a concert that will be held on December 14at the small theatre of Bibliotheca Alexandria (BA).

Perez is well known for playing flamenco, jazz,Monouche guitar and gypsy jazz.Curiosity has triggered the Spanish guitarist at the age of 14to travelto many countries such as the United States, India, and China to learn about the different cultures of music from foreign artists.

When he was a six-year-old, his family – especially his father – encouraged him to pursue his passion of playing the guitar through providing him with musicarticles from magazines and audio exercises. At the age of seven, he began studying music at the conservatory of Spain.

He decided to tour the world and meet foreign musicians in efforts to professionally enhance his talent and boost his performance because he couldn’t fully pursue a music career in Spain.

Through his many journeys across the world, Perez was able to explore different types of guitars such as KikaKila (Steel Guitar), the African, and the Fretless Middle Eastern.
He has previously dedicated an entire music album of 11 soundtracks to Alexandria; in addition to releasing some ofhis popular tracks such as “White Snow in the Spring”, “PiazzolaConocea Malena” (Tango), “Choro do Brasil”, and “PajaPaja”.

Being familiar with the country, Perez has moved to Egypt years ago to studyArabic music at Institute d’Alexandriewhere he was charmed by the Arabic culture.One of his instructors in Egypt was nayplayer Mohamed Antar, whois known formodernizing Middle Eastern music through mixing dialects together.

Perez has previously performedat Cairo Opera House and Alexandria International Festival in 2010, receiving appreciation from local citizens. He has also collaborated with award-winning Egyptian jazz musicianFathySalama.
