From Belgian directorial duo Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth comes a satirical road-trip documentary about the King of the Belgians, who while on a visit to Istanbul is alerted to news that his beloved homeland is facing a political crisis, as the French sector of Belgium, Wallonia, has declared independence. The King’s efforts to return home are hampered by a solar storm, and so he must join forces with a British filmmaker to help smuggle him into the Balkans incognito so that he can return home.
The film opened in Belgian cinemas on November 30, 2016, and has won five awards, including the Odessa International Film Festival's Best Film Prize.
This year’s edition of the Panorama of the European Film will be running from November 8 until November 18.
