CAIRO – 8 November 2017: The prominent Lebanese singer Assi El Hallani’s performance advanced to the front ranks of the 26th Arab Music Festival Tuesday at Cairo Opera House.
Known as the “Arab song knight”, El Hallani performed various songs including romantic and national ones, and a new song called “Nasayem Horeya” [Vibes of Freedom], according to a released statement by Cairo Opera House.
During the concert, he introduced selections from the Lebanese folklore and “Dabka” dances which rejoiced the audience.
Praising Wadee El Safi and Abdel Halim Hafez, the concert featured a number of their compositions such as “Ahlef Be Samaha” and “Men Hon wi Ehna”.
Along El Hallani’s recognized performance, another iconic performance also took place by the iconic Egyptian singer Nadia Moustafa at Damanhour Opera House.
The 26th Arab Music Festival features 84 Arab musicians who are partaking in the festival, which is dedicated to honoring the iconic singer, Mohsen Farouk, running between November 1 and November 15.
Eight Arab countries are leading performances in six theaters including the Cairo Opera House, Arabic Music Institute, Alexandria Opera House, and Damanhour Opera House.
Musicians and singers participating in this edition include Medhat Saleh, Mohamed El Helw, Ali El Haggar, Nadia Moustafa, Lotfi Bushnaq, Abdallah Al Rowaished, Mohamed Tharwat, Hany Shaker and Safwan Bahlawan among others.
