DMC channel sponsors CIFF

CAIRO – 31 October 2017: DMC channel has signed a 3-year sponsorship agreement with the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF).

DMC CEO Hisham Sulliman, the head of the festival Magda Wassef, and the festival artistic director Youssef Rizkallah signed a cooperation and partnership protocol. The new protocol gives DMC the exclusive right to cover and provide a live feed of the CIFF for the next three years.

CIFF management chose to screen the American movie “Mountain Between Us” in the opening ceremony of the festival, which will kick off on November 21.

The movie stars the famous English actress Kate Winslet, who won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in "The Reader" in 2008. Winslet also won five Oscar nominations, including one for her role in "Titanic."

"Mountain Between Us" also stars the well-known English actor and musician Idris Elba, who won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role in “Mandela: The Long Walk to Freedom,” in which he played the role of South African leader and activist Nelson Mandela. The film was directed by Palestinian director Hany Abu-Assad.

Wassef invited Winslet and Elba to attend the festival, which is considered one of the 15 most important international film festivals in the world.
