CAIRO – 31 October 2017: The press conference for the 39th Cairo International Film Festival will take place on November 2 at 12 p.m. in Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel in Cairo.
All the programs of the 39th edition will be announced during the conference in addition to announcing all the data surrounding the festival and distributing this edition's press kit. The Cairo International Film Festival management chose to screen the American movie “Mountain Between Us” in the opening ceremony of the festival, which will kick off on November 21.
The movie stars the famous English actress Kate Winslet, who won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in "The Reader" in 2008. Winslet also won five Oscar nominations, including one for her role in "Titanic."
"Mountain Between Us" also stars the well-known English actor and musician Idris Elba, who won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role in “Mandela: The Long Walk to Freedom,” in which he played the role of South African leader and activist Nelson Mandela. The film was directed by Palestinian director Hany Abu-Assad.
Head of the festival Magda Wassef invited Winslet and Elba to attend the festival, which is considered one of the 15 most important international film festivals in the world.
