CAIRO – 30 October 2017: “Au Revoir Les Enfants” will be screened at Adef Deca on November 3 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

After the screening, the Egyptian director Amrosh Badr will hold a discussion about the film.

The movie was first released on February 12, 1988 in France, Italy and Germany. It was written and directed by Louis Malle.

It revolves around upper-class boy Julien Quentin and his brother François, who travels to a Catholic boarding school in the countryside after vacation. After his Jewish friend Jean Bonnet enters the school, they have some friction in their relationships. But, with time, Julien learns to respect Jean.

It won many awards, including the BAFTA Film Award in 1989, the Critics Award at SESC Film Festival and the NBR Award at National Board of Review in 1987. It was also nominated for a Golden Globe and an Oscar in 1988, as well as the European Film Award in 1988.
