CAIRO – 25 October 2017: The Musketeers of the East dance group will be performing at the Cairo Opera House for three nights, starting from Thursday, October 26 until Saturday, October 28.
The Musketeers of the East for Heritage and Contemporary Dance is a group that embodies the rich history and folklore of Egypt. Each of the historical periods of Egypt carries its own unique culture, flavor and style through which the Musketeers’ performance will shift. Their performance starts from the time of the Pharaohs, and then moves through history to more modern eras with a focus on both Islamic and Coptic perspectives. The performance aims to explore the diversity present in the Egyptian culture.
Founded in 2009, The Musketeers of the East were the brainchild of designer Waleed Awni as an effort to get inspired by the Egyptian and Arab heritage; reinventing it through the usage of artistic designs and interactivity, all with a dramatic tone.
