Looperia to perform at Oufuqy Music Forum

CAIRO – 20 October 2017: Looperia will perform at the 6th Oufuqy Music Forum on October 24 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m at Jesuits Cultural Center in Alexandria.

Looperia is an African-Egyptian project that integrates the Egyptian lyrical culture with African rhythms. The project, founded by the guitarist and a goumbri player Mohamed kamal, is a mixture of African melodies with spiritual lyrics and Gnawa sense and beats, which is recognizably African.

Their performance spreads along the lines of Sufi spirits. Their music expresses God, love, peace and their biggest inspiration: Africa.

The 6th Oufuqy Music Forum will run from October 16-26.

The forum aims to combine music within everyday activities.

It organises various music events, including concerts, discussions, seminars and film screenings.

The forum is named “Oufuqy” because it follows the horizontal approach to give the audience the opportunity to integrate the festival into their daily activities, according to Oufuqy Music Forum’s official Facebook page.
