Details on third Wanas Festival to be announced

CAIRO – 18 October 2017: El Mestaba Center for Folkloric Arts will host a conference on November 9. The conference will detail festivities about the third edition of the Folkloric Wanas Festival.

The first day of the festival is expected to feature folkloric band El Tanboura and Egyptian singer Mostafa Rizk, according to a released statement by the organizing committee of the festival.

“This edition will feature the participation of a German band called Unterbiberger and Dutch band Kapriol, among seven other countries,” said the festival’s director, Zakria Ibrahim.

The festival aims to revive the hidden treasures of singing and folkloric arts, providing the audience the opportunity to engage with these types of arts through the daily performances.
