CAIRO – 17 October 2017: Egyptian and Arab artists will participate in the program “Performance(s) Between Two Shores” held in Belgium from November 8 to 16.

“Performance(s) Between Two Shores” is a European Commission-supported program to pick up new works created by Arab performance artists working in the fields of theater, dance and performing arts.

The performers must also have lived in Europe for a maximum of six years. The program aims to support the creation of dynamic new works, support the development of the artists in Europe and create new international audiences.

The Egyptian artists who will participate this year are the artistic director and filmmaker Hani Sami and choreographer and author Mona Gamil. They will produce “Mind the Gap”, which is an interactive lecture-performance about how people look at and consume images in this day and age.

Syrian Mithkal Alzghair is a choreographer and dancer. She will participate along with another Syrian artistic and director named Amal Omran. “Three Rooms” will be shown, which is a live film that simultaneously plays out in three different locations: Istanbul, London and Paris.
