Wanas Festival details to be announced

CAIRO – 15 October 2017: El Mestaba Center for Folkloric arts will host a conference on November 9. The conference will provide details on the third edition of the Folkloric Wanas Festival.

The first day of the festival is expected to feature the folkloric band El Tanboura and Egyptian singer Mostafa Rizk, according to a statement by the organizing committee of the festival.

“This edition will feature the participation of a German band called Unterbiberger and Dutch band Kapriol among seven other countries,” said the festival’s director Zakria Ibrahim.

The festival aims to revive the hidden treasures of singing and folkloric arts and to provide the audience the opportunity to engage with these types of arts through daily performances.
