SHARJAH, UAE - 14 October 2017: Egypt has bee shortlisted for the ninth edition of the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children’s Literature in the best text and digital book apps categories.

Amal Farah is representing Egypt in the Best Text award category with her The Unseen book.The book is illustrated by Osama Abou El Ella and published by Shagara publishing house in Egypt.

In the latest category introduced in this year’s edition, the Digital Book App of the Year, has three entries in the running including "I Dream to Be", developed by Bee Studio from Egypt, and targets the age group 4-7 years.


The Etisalat Award for Arabic Children’s Literature was launched by the UAE National Section of the International Board on Books for Young People (UAEBBY) in order to stimulate the children’s book industry in the Arab World.

The award seeks to provide an incentive for publishers, authors and illustrators to publish Arabic children’s books that are of the highest quality in both form and content- books that offer children a portal to worlds of knowledge and imagination
