CAIRO – 12 October 2017: Gusour Cultural Center will screen and discuss the Iranian drama film “Separation” on October 28.

Focusing on Iranian Society, the film tells the story of a married couple who has a 14-year-old daughter.

The wife wants to leave the country searching for a better environment for her daughter, while the husband refuses because he has to look after his father.

“Separation” is written and directed by Asghar Farhadi, and stars Payman Maadi, Leila Hatami and Sareh Beyat.

Released in 2011, "Separation" participated in a huge number of festivals such as the Asian Film Awards 2012, Berlin International Film Festival, Durban International Film Festival, World Cinema Amsterdam 2011, and Toronto International Film Festival.

It won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2012 and a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film in 2012.
