CAIRO – 8 October 2017: Prominent American star Matt Damon turns 47 years old on Sunday, so Egypt Today celebrates the long achievements he delivered to Hollywood.
Dropping out of Harvard to pursue an acting career, Damon has debut his film career with a small role in romantic film "Mystic Pizza" in 1988; later starring in films such as "School Ties," "Under Fire," and "The Rainmaker," which was based on a novel by John Grisham.
The star of several hit films, Damon starred and co-wrote "Good Will Hunting," which won an Oscar. He also starred in "Saving Private Ryan," and "The Bourne Identity."
"Good Will Hunting" has received nine Academy Awards nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Matt Damon, and Best Supporting Actress. The movie has won gold statues for both: Best Supporting Actor for Robin Williams, as well as Best Writing for Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
The film was a milestone in Damon’s career, and he later participated in renowned films such as Steven Spielberg’s film "Saving Private Ryan," "The Talented Mr. Ripley," "Syriana," "The Departed," and the famous film series "Ocean’s Eleven," and its two sequels.
