The Egyptian Center for Culture & Arts hosts two nights of music
Makan, the Egyptian Center for Culture & Arts, hosts back-to-back nights of music on October 15 and 16.
On October 15 the center welcomes Mazaher, an ensemble in which women play a leading role and which features the last remaining Zar practitioners in Egyptian music. Zar music is inspired by African elements, including rhythmic drumming.
On October 16 Maktoub, an instrumental music project, will perform and introduce the audience to how they blend their different musical influences, with the predominant tunes being Arabic and Jazz.
The
ticket price for both events is LE 30 per person and doors open at 8:30 p.m. Reservations can be made at
