CAIRO – 2 October 2017: The members of the committee responsible for recording and counting archaeological buildings agreed to spread the Khedive Experience across other governorates after a successful implementation of the project in Cairo.
This decision was made in a meeting headed by Mohamed Abo Seeada, the director of the National Organization for Urban Harmony.
A number of problems were discussed, such as the unification of the national database and the development of their archives.
The meeting also discussed editing law No.144 to enhance heritage protection.
The members of the committee called for repeating the Khedive Cairo Experience in different Egyptian governorates.
The concept of the Khedive Experience in Cairo means following the architectural and artistic style of Khedive Ismail’s period.
The Khedive Experience is a project adapted by the National Organization of Urban Harmony to restore the beauty of Cairo’s historical buildings by repainting their facades.
