CAIRO – 2 October 2017: Ahmed Awad, head of the Cultural Development Fund announced on Sunday that Hany Shenouda, Tahia Shamseldin, Alaa Fathy and Enas Galaleldin are the jury members of the third edition of the Golden Voice Competition.
The competition will bear the name of the late artist Mohsen Farooq.
The fund announced that the last day to apply to the competition is October 5. The Golden Voice Competition is organized by the Ministry of Culture and will be held at Cairo Opera House. Applicants must be at least 18-years-old and younger than 30.
The applicant must be Egyptian and submissions must be Arabic songs on the first stage. The second stage of the competition will accept submissions in poem or monologue form.
The first place prize is worth LE 10,000 ($5,676.98), and a certificate of appreciation. The second place prize is LE 7,000, a certificate of appreciation, and a medal. The third place prize is LE 5,000, a certificate of appreciation, and a medal also. For the fourth and fifth prizes, participants will also be awarded certificates of appreciation and medals.
The application fee is LE 50.
