Asia Madani to perform in Zigzag Live Season

CAIRO – 2 October 2017: The Sudanese artist Asia Madani will perform live at Zigzag on October 4.

The concert is a part of Zigzag’s live concerts’ second season.

Madani came to Egypt in 2001 with a strong vision of spreading Sudanese music across borders.

Madani uses traditional Sudanese musical instruments for percussion like the dalooka, gara'a, and tar, which are integrated in different types of cultural music across Sudan such as zar, Nubian folk, and South Sudanese folk.

She strives to spread her message to an even bigger audience by participating in cultural awareness initiatives such as the AfriCairo Project and the Nile Project.

Since her arrival to Egypt, Madani has performed at countless cultural hubs and events, including the Cairo Opera House, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Salah El-Din Citadel, El Sawy Culture Wheel, and the Ministry of Culture, among others.
