CAIRO – 30 September 2017: Mohammed Assaf, Palestinian pop-singer and Arab Idol star, held a special appearance at Dubai’s Oasis Mall on Thursday, delighting fans who couldn’t wait to meet him.
The event was part of Assaf’s promotional tour for his second album, “Ma Wahashnak,” which was released in July. Assaf hopes the album will help introduce him to a wider international audience, broadening his scope after his success in the Arab world.
Born in Libya, Assaf was sent to live in Gaza camp at the young age of four, but didn’t let hardships crush his dream of musical success. After stints as a wedding performer, he embarked on a week-long car trip from Gaza to Beirut in 2012, performing at the Arab Idol, which he eventually won, turning him into a symbol of national pride for Gaza; a new hope for Palestine.
