CAIRO – 27 September 2017: The French black and white crime drama film “La Haine” will screen at Room Art Space and Café on October 1.

It is written, co-edited and directed by Mathieu Kassovitz. It was released in 1995.

It stars Vincent Cassel, Hubert Kounde and Said Taghmaoi.

It narrates the story of three young men who live in a multiethnic suburban in Paris. Each one of them belongs to a different ethnic group.

They face many issues, such as the riot in Paris, police oppression and the murder of their friend.

The name of the film is taken from a sentence said by one of the main characters.

It participated in a number of international competitions and festivals.

It was awarded many prestigious prizes, including the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1995. It was also awarded Best Film, Best Producer and Best Editing at the Cesar Awards in France in 1996.
