CAIRO – 24 September 2017: Fragments of “The Private Life of a Masterpiece” highlighting dance at le Moulin de la Galette will screen on October 6 at Smart Art.
“The Private Life of a Masterpiece” is a series produced by BBC Arts, which screened from 2001 to 2010 over the course of more than five seasons.
Dance at le Moulin de la Galette was once described as the most beautiful of all artworks in the 19th century, according to Art Space’s press release.
It is an impressionist snapshot from reality, depicting a typical Sunday morning in Moulin, France. The painting portrays working-class subjects eating, drinking, and talking.
Although the portrait is full of joy and enjoyment, there is a darker story behind the production of this portrait.
