CAIRO – 17 September 2017: Cima will host a workshop with renowned Egyptian cinematographer Sa’eed Al-Shimy on November 4.
The workshop teaches the basics of cinematography such as lighting, composition, colors, angles, and lenses through practical exercises. It will last for two months and participants will meet on a weekly basis for their session.
Al-Shimy is a director with tremendous experience in filmmaking. He began filming with an 8-mile camera and later studied cinematography at the Higher Institute of Cinema.
His most prominent works include “Darbt Shams” (Heat Stroke), “Al ‘ar” (Shame), and “Gazirat Al Shayatin” (Island of Devils).
Al-Shimy is also an author who published several books, including “Tasweer Cinema’i Taht El Ma’a”(Underwater Cinematography) and “Itigahat El Ibda’ Fil Tasweer El Cinema’I”(Creativity Trends in Cinematography).
