Here, Céline Sallette plays Emile, a woman dedicated to her job as the Human Resources manager at a French Food company. Under an icy veneer, she eagerly carries out what her boss wants without regard for those under her, until the day comes that a finance worker leaps to his death, causing Emile’s mask to shatter.
As the weight of guilt and possible professional retribution comes down Emile must find it in herself to do the right thing.
More than just a critique of inhumane worker treatment, "Corporate" examines the ways ‘powerful’ female businesswomen can still continue to find themselves used and abused by the men on top, as Emilie realizes she is the one being set up to fall in the wake of the tragedy, accused of possible abuse. With an aesthetic touch that well-reflects the dry atmosphere of an office environment, Silhol’s debut film adequately brings across a message of professional coldness.
