CAIRO – 11 September 2017: September 11 is the day Donny Osmond hit it big with his cover song “Go Away Little Girl,” which was a #1 hit in 1971. He was only 13 years old.

Osmond was previously a member of the family band the Osmonds and performed alongside his siblings Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay. Together they scored a #1 hit with their song “One Bad Apple.” Osmond then went his own separate way to become a solo singer, and his debut single “Sweet and Innocent,” was already positively received, reaching the #7 spot on pop charts.

While Osmond never again achieved the wild success of his youth, he did go on to have a moderately successful career as a TV show host and singer, and is famous for singing the song “I'll Make a Man Out of You” in Disney’s Mulan;
